I have studied, worked, and lived in Liverpool for the last three years and am incredibly passionate about improving opportunities and outcomes across Liverpool Garston. I am currently a PhD candidate and teacher at the University of Liverpool, having previously been a Director of Mental Health and social care worker. I stood as a candidate at the local elections in Calderstones, working hard to address the concerns of residents. I have a track record of delivery, having campaigned on a range of issues including mental health at the local, national, and international level. I believe I have the knowledge and skills to be a strong voice for the constituency.
My Six Point Plan for Liverpool Garston
- Better Transport Links
I want to improve transport across the constituency by campaigning to extend the metro line to Liverpool Airport and increase the accessibility of current stations for all residents.
- Preserving our Green Spaces
I want to preserve our green spaces across the constituency, not just for this generation, but for generations to come. I will take a brownfields first approach to housebuilding and work with local groups to protect our parks.
- Investing in Our Local NHS
I will fight to improve access to local health services including GP appointments across the constituency. I will work with local charities and health services to improve access to preventative and treatment-based support for mental health. I will continue to champion the Conservative Government’s Pharmacy First scheme, enabling residents to access certain prescriptions without having to attend their local GP surgery.
- Creating Local Jobs and Opportunities
I will champion job creation across the constituency, supporting the growth of the Port of Garston and working with the pharmaceutical sector to achieve further investment across the next Parliament. We have a great workforce here in Liverpool Garston that I will champion as the local MP, delivering high tech and advanced manufacturing jobs for local people.
- Better Education for All
I believe that education is at the very heart of improving opportunities for all. I will work with local education providers to make sure that our children have the skills they need to thrive. But education doesn’t stop at school. I will champion adult education so that everyone has the chance to gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
- Tackling Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour
I want to address crime and anti-social behaviour head on, that’s why I will expand prevention work with young people and take a zero-tolerance approach to offending. We need tougher sanctions for offenders, partnered with diversionary measures for at-risk young people.
