It is an honour for me to stand as your candidate here in vibrant Liverpool Riverside - the heart of Liverpool.
I believe in aspiration, in personal responsibility and that I have found my calling in a life of public service. My personal mantra is to deliver what I commit to, work ferociously hard and use my wits, positivity, and compassion to make a difference to others.
I’m proud of Britain and I want to be part of a Conservative government that is open and outward looking. Let’s stop Labour doing us down – we need to shout loud about our achievements.
I will do my part to ensure we harness our improving outlook and use it to grow our economy here in Liverpool and nationally. To continue to improve our world-class education standards, to deliver healthcare efficiently and with compassion, and to reform and simplify our planning system so it is responsive to the needs of the UK today. I will continue the work this Conservative government has undertaken to improve our world-leading school system and ensure each child gets the education which maximises each child’s unique skills.
We need to deliver the housing and infrastructure we need so, when my children grow up, they will be able to afford to buy their own home. We need to work locally to tackle local deprivation and provide opportunity.
Labour and its socialist policies and mess of local government have let us down here in Liverpool. I will be Liverpool Riverside’s strong voice – for change, for renewal, regeneration and opportunity.
My 6-point Plan for Liverpool Riverside
Grow Liverpool’s business and skilled employment
We are the 3rd largest regional economy in the UK, a major trading port and home to a diverse range of businesses. As your MP I will seek to drive regeneration and increase business investment across all sectors. We need more high-productivity, high-skilled jobs in technology, the arts, legal and financial services or trade and manufacturing.
The Bramley-Moore dock and the new Everton stadium are fantastic examples of this regeneration in action. As your MP I will work with businesses to ensure value and economic potential is realised.
That means more jobs, more growth, more prosperity for Liverpool Riverside.
Invest in our NHS
Home to the fantastic new Royal Hospital and Liverpool School for Tropical Medicine, we need to ensure the delivery of doctors and nurses, to push to reduce wait times, and to ensure everyone can easily access GP appointments across our constituency. I will work to ensure local people can access local pharmacies and prescriptions easily.
Focus on education
Liverpool Riverside is home to world-renowned universities and many excellent schools. I will support our schools locally and continue to drive improvement across our school system, especially the rollout of our groundbreaking apprenticeship programme.
Support Liverpool’s thriving tourist economy
We are an incredible city of culture and history; we must keep Liverpool one of the top 5 tourist destinations in the UK. That means I will support our cultural heritage and tourist economy to enable it to thrive – to increase jobs and opportunities for everyone.
Tackle crime head-on
As your MP I will be a strong voice to tackle crime. Much of this starts with prevention, but also anti-social behaviour. I will work diligently to improve community policing and implement programs to support at-risk youth, making our neighbourhoods safer for everyone.
Keep our streets clean and safe
The Labour-run Council has failed us locally, we deserve better. This means clean streets which are attractive and welcoming, taking pride in our area.
